Mae gan Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant le yn isymwybod y Cymry ac mae pererindod yno yn hen ddefod. Mae cofnodion o’r 19eg ganrif yn cyfleu pryder mawr trigolion yr ardal am ei gyflwr ac arweiniodd hyn at ystâd y Penrhyn yn adnewyddu’r tŷ ym 1888 i ddathlu tri chan mlynedd ers cyfieithu’r Beibl. Ganrif yn ddiweddarach, a’r Tŷ Mawr dan ofal yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol, cafwyd ymgyrch arall. Bwriad apêl Tŷ Mawr oedd adfer y ffermdy i gyflwr tebyg i’r hyn fyddai wedi bod o gwmpas yr amser adawodd William Morgan am y Coleg yng Nghaergrawnt ym 1565.
