The Royal Mint Launches 2025 Sovereign Collection

The Royal Mint unveiled new designs and future plans for the Sovereign, including some firsts and lasts. The 2025 Collection will become available to purchase later this year. This will be the last opportunity for collectors to own a Sovereign made from rose gold. Starting in 2026, all Sovereigns struck by The Royal Mint will be crafted from yellow gold, returning to its 500-year-old roots. The 2025 Sovereign commemorative coin range also features two classic Sovereign designs: Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic St. George and the dragon and Jean Baptiste Merlen's Royal Arms, which celebrates the 200th anniversary of its first appearance in 1825.
