ENGLISH MEDIEVAL HOARD UNCOVERED

Once again, the future and the past have crossed paths. A medieval hoard of coins has been discovered at the construction site of a nuclear power station in the United Kingdom. This isn’t the first time something old has been discovered at the site. Among other artifacts uncovered are an Iron Age wooden axle likely originating from either a cart or a chariot and various military objects dating from World War II. The axle was discovered in a waterlogged pit by dendrochronologist Michael Bamforth of the University of York in 2021. Bamforth said the axle was broken, burned, and repurposed to prevent the collapse of the waterhole.
