Stack's Bower Galleries Acquired in $92 Million Deal

The world's largest rare coin and currency auction house, Stack's Bower Galleries, has reached an exciting milestone in its 91-year-long history. On February 3, 2025, the precious metals platform A-Mark Precious Metals, Inc. announced a definitive merger agreement to acquire 100% of the stock of Spectrum Group International, Inc. A-Mark will pay $92 million, comprised of 50% cash and 50% A-Mark common stock, to own 100% of Spectrum Group International's outstanding stock. Spectrum Group International is the parent company of Stack's Bowers Galleries and majority owner of fine and rare wine auctioneer and retailer Spectrum Wine. A-Mark and Spectrum Group International are no strangers.
