FANTASY COINS GETTING MORE POLITICAL

Fantasy and micro-nation “coins” are nothing new. Such so-called coins have been struck for many years in the name of places that either don’t exist or have no one through which such coins could be authorized. In 1929 businessman Martin Coles Harmon issued puffin-denominated coins for Lundy without proper authorization from the British crown. The Principality of Sealand has issued coins despite the so-called country being nothing more than a fort in the North Sea abandoned at the end of World War II.
