As we advance towards the second quarter of 2024 in our constant efforts to expand and improve the NumisMaster website, our analysts find themselves pulling double duty. We are combining our database work with the Coin of the Year staff ’s process of honoring coins of exquisite design and construction. With our award ceremony shifts last year, we advanced the COTY process by over six months, leaving our current focus centered on the thousands of coins issued by Mints and Banks during the 2023 calendar year. While most countries in the past month’s NumisMaster work offered the opportunity to add just a few up to a few dozen coin types or master records, two countries received the royal treatment, gaining roughly 350 coins each; Transnistria and Tristan da Cunha.
