When Robson Green turned 60 just before Christmas, he didn’t celebrate with a party or even a glass of champagne. ‘I’ve never celebrated a birthday,’ explains the Grantchester star. ‘I’ve had some lovely birthday presents but it’s just another day, isn’t it? And I have loved every age I’ve ever been. Every day should be special. Every day should be like it’s your birthday.’ He recognises that 60 is a milestone. ‘When I was young, I looked at someone who was 60 years old and thought to myself, “How are you still alive?!”’ he says with a chuckle. ‘Funnily enough, I had a medical recently for a job I did and the guy referred to me as elderly!
