Thanks to hit 2020 series The Queen's Gambit, chess has never been more popular, and now it's back on TV for the first time in decades.
Former Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins hosts this highstakes series where 12 of the UK's best amateur players go head-to-head for the title of Chess Masters champion.
'It gets very emotional,' says Sue.
'You make yourself very vulnerable in chess - your thought processes, your evaluations, the way you structure your brain, the way you anticipate. It's a battle and when you lose it's painful and difficult.'
