‘She starts losing things, like her purse, which she later finds in the fridge. She’s behaving erratically and shouting a lot, even at her loved ones. But the biggest thing in the scripts, I think, is that she has these mini-strokes, falls over and tries to ignore it,’ explains actor Sue Devaney, whose alter ego, Debbie, is just 56.
Having put it down to the menopause, she’s stunned when the doctor explains she'll need to go for tests for dementia.
