Dis nie net Peugeot se eerste bakkie in dekades nie, maar boonop sy eerste dubbelkajuit. ’n Mens is nie regtig verbaas nie, want dis ’n gewilde marksegment, en as daar een ding is waarvoor dié bakkies gerat is, is dit sleep. Die Landtrek se 1,9 ℓ-dieselenjin is die kleinste enjin in ’n dubbelkajuitbakkie. Dit is natuurlik om die vermoë van so ’n klein enjin te bevraagteken, maar hieroor het Volkswagen 12 jaar terug al die skeptici se monde gesnoer. Die Amarok se 2 ℓ-enjin was destyds ook die kleinste enjin onder sy mededingers. Daardie enjin het 90 kW en 340 Nm gelewer, terwyl die 1,9 ℓ van Landtrek se syfers onderskeidelik 110 kW en 350 Nm is.
