Defender vir ewig

‘n Land Rover Defender is en was nog altyd sy ware liefde,

Oor die jare het ek nie minder nie as sewe Land Rover Defenders besit – en dit is sonder om dié van my vrou, Carina, by te reken. Tans ry ek ’n 2016-model 110 wat ek in 2018 gekoop het. Dis toevallig ook hierdie jaarmodel wat die einde beteken het van die kenmerkende Defender-vorm voordat die heel nuutste model verskyn het. Die gogga het in 2000 gebyt nadat ek as ’n passasier in my vriend Ters Anderson se Defender saamgery het. Dit was op ’n veldrybyeenkoms naby Lambertsbaai en ek was dadelik verlief op die 110 Tdi met sy besonderse vermoë en unieke voorkoms. Dieselfde jaar koop ek ’n 1996 Defender 90 Tdi wat ek drie jaar later inruil op ’n 2000-model – ook ’n 90, maar met die TD5-enjin. Ek het…
