REISJOERNAAL ‘Die spinasie (as dit spinasie was) en die straathoender van die vorige aand het my van vroeg af op. Ontbyt is swart koffie, ’n malariapil en maagmedisyne. Dit gaan ’n lang dag wees.’ Vanoggend se ervaring by ’n vulstasie in Cabinda, Angola, het ons aan die dink gesit... Ons het naarstigtelik na petrol gesoek toe ons daar aankom, maar vulstasie ná vulstasie was droog. Skielik sien ons een waar ’n swetterjoel zoemponies en ou karre saamdrom. ’n Wag het ons vorentoe gewink en beduie dat ons kan kom volmaak. Niemand wat in die ry gestaan en wag het, het geskel of beduie nie. Trouens, foto’s is van ons motorfietse geneem, en vrae gevra. Daar was groot opwinding en meelewing. Om Afrika te deurkruis, gryp verbeeldings aan... almal s’n! Toe…
