MET MY EIE OË

Ek was in Mei 2023 saam met my ouers, André en Adanda, vir ’n week lank in die Kgalagadi. Ons besoek het gevolg kort ná erge veldbrande, en daarom het ons nie baie diere gesien nie. Die meeste van die groot herbivore het na Mabuasehube, aan die Botswana-kant, migreer op soek na “groener” weiveld. Die karnivore het natuurlik gevolg. ’n Mens kan egter nooit die Kgalagadi-oorgrenspark onderskat nie. Daar is altyd iets wat jou sal stom slaan; dit verg net geduld en fyn kyk. Laatmiddag op pad terug Twee Rivieren toe sien ons ’n voertuig voor ons stilhou. Ná ’n vinnige gesoek deur die landskap sien ons ’n ratel tussen die bosse wat besig was met ’n voorwerp wat soos ’n klip gelyk het. Deur die verkyker en lang lens…
