Die kusdorpie Kenton-on-Sea lê lepel met die Kariega- en Boesmansrivier. Dis ’n plek vir kaalvoetloop en soek na weggesteekte strande, en waar diere voorrang bo bote op die rivier geniet.

“Kenton? O, daar in Knysna? Nee? Bedoel jy Kempton Park?” is dikwels die reaksie wanneer jy vir mense vertel jy is op pad na Kenton-on-Sea. Dan kos dit eers verduidelik: Dis amper halfpad tussen Gqeberha en Oos-Londen, sowat 25 km voor Port Alfred op die R72... Soms weet mense iets van ’n bootresies op Port Alfred se Kowierivier of hulle het al van Boesmansriviermond gehoor. Maar Kenton ken hulle nie sommer nie. “Ons het nie veel toerismedoendinge nie, maar ons het mooi strande en natuurskoon en riviere met olifante, leeus en renosters,” vertel Jo Wilmot wat op Kenton grootgeword het. “Ons bied die beste van die bos én die see.
