WHITE GARMENTS FIELD GREY GARMENTS Shade Create the shade with the darkest colour. Apply two layers if needed to evenly cover the surface. Intermediate 1 Mix the shade with a lighter colour and start marking the more exposed areas. Leave the shades on the deepest recesses. Base Next, apply the base, which is the ‘real colour’ we want. Start focusing on the most exposed areas. Intermediate 2 For the first higlights, continue using lighter colours, and reduce the area painted. Focus on the wrinkles and edges. Light The last highlight is done with a very thin line or just a dot in the edge of each highlighted area. I always try to add some uniform variation in my units to make the unit looking more interesting.
