HISTORICAL WARGAMING WITH… WOMEN?!

“I just want to play games; I don't want politics.” Yeah, mate, me too! Unfortunately for some demographics, our very existence is often deemed political, so it's harder for us to escape these topics. What do we all love, though? — wargaming! Yes! It's something everyone reading this magazine can all shake hands on and say “Yup, I sure do love wargaming.” It's a good start. We all have that in common, whatever our economic background, bits and pieces, skin colour, or whether we assemble a cream tea correctly or incorrectly.

COLUMN THE IRREGULAR Everybody wants the same thing: a nice, enjoyable game. Something so that when you're packing up your miniatures afterwards, you'll think, ‘What a lovely time that was.’ We can definitely all agree on this. I hope you're sitting down for this revelation, but I have something outlandish to tell you. I am a woman. I've been a woman in the wargaming hobby for twenty-four years, fourteen of those working in the wargaming industry.
