TIPS FOR APPLYING DECALS ON MINIATURE VEHICLES THAT'S GONNA LEAVE A MARK

Water-slide decals are often the favored choice of wargamers for tank markings due to their ease of use. Their application process is generally straightforward. But there are a few tricks for getting the best results.

In this tutorial, we will explore the correct method for applying water slide decals. The principles discussed here can apply to decals on any type of model. STEP 1 – Glossy varnish After painting the tank with basic colors and camouflage, prepare the surface for decal application; it should be flat without any imperfections. To help achieve this, we will use a gloss varnish. Any weathering effects will come after sealing and transfers. Apply a couple of thin layers of varnish to build up the polished surface. Brush strokes can leave marks that disrupt the effect, so use a spray if possible. STEP 2 – Cut the decals Cut out the decals you want to use from the sheet, carefully using a modeling knife.
