The rules are primarily aimed at 1/1200 and 1/2400-scale models, but the author states that the rules will work well with a scale as large as 1/600. I'm sure that with adjustments, other scales would work too. The period covered involves a surprising number of conflicts, a huge variety of ship types, and many nations who were naval powers at the time.
