PREPARE FOR BATTLE!

We are lucky to be living through a glorious, golden age in tabletop wargaming. There is a wide variety of games to play in a decent range of scales, and there has never before been such a cornucopia of miniatures available for us to play with. So how best can the hobbyist make the leap from piles of blister packs and boxes to a practical, playable and painted tabletop force? Tabletop wargamers are very different, but we find each other in the need to field an army on the tabletop. An army may be bought ready to go, or might perhaps be borrowed, but most of us end up collecting and painting them ourselves.

Not everyone enjoys doing it (and some gamers are happy to play with ‘bare’ minatures), but generally, some day, the plastic, metal, or resin miniatures will need to get some colour on them, and be based - ready to do battle. In this series of articles, we ask friends of WS&S how they tackle this problem, with the aim of spreading ideas of how to get more miniatures painted to a better standard and onto the table faster: faster, better, more.
