65 ROSES EXPLAINED

Back in the ‘60s a kid called Richard Weiss overheard his mum, Mary, fundraising for cystic fibrosis as he and his two brothers had all been diagnosed. He misheard the term as 65 roses and the name has stuck, in particular for helping young children (and some adults!) learn how to pronounce the genetic condition. Over 55 years later, public awareness of cystic fibrosis remains low. Initiatives like Dan’s T4 are all geared to help improve that.
