People often shy away from seafood and shellfish when cooking outdoors yet, if you’re able to find fresh produce and keep it refrigerated, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t add some fruits de mer to your weekend menu. This dish became a favourite when camping in Holland around a decade ago. With two Dutch VW events to attend on consecutive weekends, we decided it would make much more sense to extend our road trip to fill the week in between. In other words, our trip involved 13 nights camping, and even I had to agree with the guys when they pointed out that we might need to consider something other than BBQ’d red meat at some point in that time.
