Parmi les bateaux qui s’élanceront pour le Trophée Jules Verne, un maxi trimaran 100 % féminin mené par Alexia Barrier tentera de battre le record du tour du monde à la voile.

Considéré comme le « Graal » de la course au large, le Trophée Jules Verne continue à attirer les prétendants au record. Il est détenu encore aujourd’hui par Francis Joyon et son équipage avec un temps époustouflant de 40 jours, 23 heures, 30 minutes et 30 secondes réalisé en 2017 à bord du trimaran Idec Sport. Cet hiver, plusieurs géants des mers se mettront en stand-by pour tenter une nouvelle fois de battre ce mythique record du tour du monde à la voile, sans escale ni assistance, notamment le trimaran Ultim SVR-Lazartigue, skippé par François Gabart, qui a d’ores et déjà confirmé son projet de tentative.
