When Paul White decided to pull the trigger on a Split Bus, he opted to start with a rolling ’shell and then custom tailor it to his taste

“there’s not much you can shine up on a Bus like this” Unlike many who come to the VW Bus scene, Paul is no stranger to classic Volkswagens, having bought his first Beetle at 16 (he’s 49 now) and still owning it today. At the other end of the custom VW scale, he also owns a 570bhp Golf R estate, slammed on Rotiform wheels, so it’s safe to say when it came to a Bus, it was never going to have a weedy old 1200 in the back. We’re getting ahead of ourselves here, though, as before he could even think about horsepower, he had to consider some much more mundane work.
