As each year comes around, everyone has anniversaries to celebrate in their lives, whether it’s a birthday, marriage or something more esoteric. For the Cal Look world, there are three this year of importance. The first is the start of undoubtedly the most famous Cal Look VW club in the world, California-based Der Kleiner Panzers (DKP).
In the summer of 1964, a small group of college students began a kind of social gathering of like-minded people, calling themselves Volkswagens Limited. They would regularly meet up, but pretty much kept to themselves until, in 1965, they started to organise meets.
