Pete Wangsgard first saw this Split Single Cab in a Utah junkyard in 2002. 13 years later, he had the opportunity to own it

Pete is another one of us who first got into VWs in the 1980s, though it took him until 2000 to get behind the wheel of his first Split Screen Bus, a ’66. Shortly after that, he found himself in a local junkyard, All Small Auto Wrecking, located just a few miles from where Pete has lived in Utah since 2003. Even though he made that brief visit in 2002, noticing a few Split Buses amongst the remains of vehicles present, he forgot all about it until 2014 when, in a moment of clarity, he remembered where it was located! “I was riding the local train from my home into Salt Lake and saw two Split Buses tucked away in a junkyard.
