The Beetle-based two-door convertible built by Hebmüller has been the darling of the Volkswagen collectors’ world for decades. It all boils down to pleasing aesthetics and a low-production figure, meaning owning one remains a true honour in our hobby. But with the way values of vintage VWs have gone in recent times, you also need deep pockets to get behind the wheel of a Heb’ these days. Much has been written about the company and its topless VW, but here is a quick recap, in case you missed it.
