Hebmüllers are like Buses. You wait forever for one to turn up, and then two arrive at once…

It’s fairly obvious that there’s a bit of a Hebmüller vibe running through this issue and, as far as these coachbuilt rarities go, I don’t think you could find two more different examples than this month’s cover stars. When you consider that less than 700 Hebmüllers were ever built, and only 174 are believed to exist worldwide today, it’s fair to say these things are as exclusive as they are desirable. “these things are as exclusive as they are desirable” Twice as nice Consequently, the fact that Karl Schuler (owner of the restored one on p38) previously owned the customised one on p14 is pretty neat. Clearly, Karl is a hardcore Heb’ fan, as we could probably count on one hand the number of people to have owned more than one of these…
