ZUR RICHTIGEN ZEIT am richtigen Ort fühlt sich Jen Roberts, Direktorin der „Design Miami/Basel“, sowohl im Job als auch am Standort. Genau wie die Messe liefert die Stadt ein Rekordhoch nach dem nächsten. „In den Bereichen Kunst und Lifestyle hat sich so viel getan, dass ich mittlerweile nicht mehr nachvollziehen kann, wieso ich vor zwei Jahren nicht hierherziehen wollte“, sagt die gebürtige New Yorkerin. „In Miami geht es ebenso kosmopolitisch zu, doch viel zivilisierter. Man lebt und arbeitet entspannt.“ Bevor die 46-jährige Kunsthistorikerin damit begann, Business- und Marketingstrategien für die beste Designmesse der Welt zu entwickeln, war sie an der Gründung der Zeitschrift „Modern“ und am „Salon Art + Design“ beteiligt.
