THE delayed Fulchester Fashion Week is set to finally go ahead from next Monday, bringing a welcome boost to local shops and businesses in the clothing industry. Originally scheduled for mid-September, the glittering showcase for the cutting-edge Fulchester fashion scene was cancelled at the last minute after its chosen venue – the former Settee Realm store on Conquistador Retail Park – unexpectedly collapsed in a cloud of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete. In a double blow, organisers were unable to reclaim their deposit after the building’s owner, Tommy Crushnut, was found beheaded in a packing-case near the canal basin. Undeterred, local fashionistas came up with the innovative plan of setting up their catwalks in a variety of outdoors locations across the town.
