Killjoy Council Spoils Community Fun

A RIGHT Royal rumpus is raging in a Nottinghamshire neighbourhood after plans for a Coronation Day street party were scuppered by the local council. And the organiser of the loyal celebration has accused councillors of being ‘bureaucratic box-ticking autons with no common sense’. Patriotic homeowner Neil Humble submitted an application to the council earlier this month, seeking permission for the closure of Scrapborough Road to traffic on May the 6th, so that residents could hold a bash to mark the once-in-a-generation event. Neil thought that the rubber stamping of the application was a foregone conclusion, and turned his thoughts to organising catering and decorations.
