A DOWNINGStreet whistle-blower has blown the whistle on dangerously low stationery levels at the heart of government. And in a document leaked to The Times, they reveal that after more than half the stock was removed without authority, Whitehall staff now say Number 10’s stationery cupboard is ‘running on empty’. The resultant shortage of envelopes, pens, typewriter ribons and duplicating paper leaves the governance of the country in a parlous state in the run-up to Christmas.
