THE cost of living crisis means that times are tight and pockets are empty for almost everyone in the UK. But while many struggle to adapt to the hardships of 2023 Britain, one Stoke on Trent couple have seen little difference in their day-to-day lives.
For the past 20 years, retro-fanatics Tom and Janice Noblet have lived their lives exactly as people would have done in postwar Britain. The couple have have transformed their humble two-up-two-down into a shrine to the 1940s, and modelled their day-to-day lives closely after the styles and standards of that era, adopting everything from authentic period dress to a grim ration-book diet.
