A NATURAL TRANSFORMATION

QUOIN ROCK WINE ESTATE’s renovation has infused a fresh, modern aesthetic into the CAPE WINELANDS.

ORIGINALLY BUILT IN 2000 with an industrial look, the farm buildings were redeveloped to harmonise with their surroundings in 2019, based on the design and inspiration of Yuliya Gaiduk. The aim was to enhance the symbolism of wine production, complement the red soil terroir, and embrace the silhouette and textures of the Simonsberg mountain. To transform the original shape of the building, a new pergola was added – almost like cutting through two long parallelepipeds with a knife. The pergola’s criss-crossed I-beams structure is filled with lasercut decorative panels, offering aesthetically pleasing shading for the outdoor wine lounge and restaurant area.
