During my first full year as an ultrarunner in 2014, I finished three 50-mile races and three 50ks. I remember feeling great physically, so at the end of the year I committed myself to a more ambitious schedule for 2015. My curiosity was sparked by how my body would respond to running 100 miles in one day. While the North American UROY award was a great honor and a humbling experience for me, it wasn’t something I set out to accomplish in 2015.
