Ludwig antwoord Die ouer donkergroen blare wys dat die rose water en voedingstowwe kon opneem ná verlede winter se rusfase en snoei. Maar toe hulle begin blom, het die kommunikasie tussen die blare en die wortels verander, aangesien die plant nou meer fosfaat en ander mikro-elemente nodig het om blomme en saad (roosbottels) te vorm. Nadat rose geblom het en dooi blomme afgesny is, het die wortels weer stikstof en potas nodig om te groei. Indien die wortels nie sekere mikro-elemente soos yster, boor en stikstof kan kry of absorbeer nie, sal die nuwe blare tekens van chlorose (bleeksiekte) begin toon. Dit kan wees dat die wortels nuwe dieptes in die grond of staande water bereik het weens al die reën. Die grond kan ook meer alkalies of gekompakteer wees. ’n…
