Versamelstuk Peperomia is ’n genus tropiese huisplante inheems aan Mexiko, Suid-Amerika en die Karibiese Eilande. Hul opvallende dik, vlesige blare dra by tot hul gehardheid en verdraagsaamheid vir droogte. Hierdie plante is uiters gesog weens hul aantreklike ornamentele loof wat in ’n kits lewe in ’n ruimte bring. Peperomia caperata is ’n bekoorlike kompakte plant met donkergroen hartvormige blare gekenmerk deur diep riwwe. Van die somer tot herfs spog dit met dun, gepunte blomare. Maak een keer per week nat gedurende die winter en plaas dit in matige tot helder lig. Die klein waatlemoen-peperomia (Peperomia argyreia) het ovaalvormige vlesige blare met opmerklike silwer en groen strepe.
