In association with DAY 1 1 SD413986 Exit the train station and turn left. Go past the bus stops and Booths supermarket, and turn right to cross the road at a zebra crossing. Turn right past a bench and the Windermere train station sign, and take caution as you cross the A591. Turn left, heading west. Fork right off the main road and arrive at a prominent white sign stating ‘footpath to Orrest Head’. Turn right and head north briefly before veering left at a fingerpost sign to ‘Orrest Head viewpoint 1 mile’. Head north-northwest on a walled lane through woodland.
