VIEW WITH A ROOM Ty Capel, near Betws-y-Coed The Landmark Trust is a charity that rescues important buildings that would otherwise be lost. They renovate and then make them available as holiday lets. Many of the Trust's properties are in remote locations, and one such example is Ty Capel. Perfectly located for exploring Eryri (Snowdonia), this former school/chapel is a relic from the slate mining industry which once served a community of 150 people. Today, there isn't even a road there and you'll need to leave your car a 10-minute walk awayjust to get to its stream-side location at the head of a valley of waterfalls, oak trees and rocks.
