Deux Helmut dans un garage

Schmidt und Bender a été fondé en 1957 dans le garage d’une maison du village de Fellingshausen, à 80 km au nord de Francfort sur le Main, par deux spécialistes en micro-mécanique, Schmidt et Bender, qui partageaient une même passion pour leur métier et un prénom commun, germanique en diable, Helmut. Cette région d’Allemagne est réputée à la fois pour son industrie optique et pour la mécanique de précision, puisque Fellingshausen est situé non loin de Wetzlar, patrie de Leitz et des appareils photo Leica. Trois générations plus tard, Schmidt und Bender est resté une entreprise familiale, toujours située à Fellingshausen, et qui produit aujourd’hui une gamme d’optiques adaptées à la chasse, au sport et aux impératifs militaires et policiers. L’entreprise a été retenue en 2006 pour équiper les Marines.…
