In a phone interview, Bowley said the planning board process “is going well.” He added that he and the civil engineer for the project, Michael Tadema-Wielandt, have followed all the steps outlined by the planning board and provided all supplemental information requested.
The Blue Hill planning board determined that the application was complete at its February 12 meeting. No public comment was permitted.
Bowley said he understands the concerns of those who oppose the project, but the choice is up to the planning board. He will respect their ultimate decision, he said. “I’m interested to see where it lands.”
Since the application first came before the planning board last year, neighbors and concerned citizens have organized Save the Salt Pond Blueberry Barrens. The group still has many concerns about the project, according to Kristin Collins, an attorney who represents some of the members.
In a letter to the planning board on February 12, Collins said "hundreds" of people "remain extremely troubled" by the proposal.
Collins' letter outlines continued concerns about the application: adequate stormwater and septic system management, health of the Salt Pond ecosystems and wildlife, need for soil testing, and denigration of a recognized scenic landmar...
