Since Queen Elizabeth II’s death, her close ties to the US have been discussed and remembered. During her lifetime, she met 13 US Presidents, hosting them at her royal homes and visiting the White House several times. Those relationships helped keep the nations close. President Harry Truman hosted Elizabeth in Washington, DC, in 1951, when she was a princess. In 1959, as queen, she baked scones for Dwight Eisenhower at her castle in Scotland, and in 1961, she invited John F. Kennedy to Buckingham Palace. Only one President who served during her reign, Lyndon Johnson, did not meet her in person. In 1976, Queen Elizabeth II danced with Gerald R.
