When The Week Junior went to press on October 10, violence had broken out in the Middle East (p2). After a militant group called Hamas attacked Israel, Israel declared war on Hamas. What has occurred is upsetting to all of us on the editorial team and may be upsetting to you too. Many government leaders and individuals around the world have condemned the violence and called for an end to the fighting. I hope our article will help you understand what is happening and that you will speak to a trusted adult if you have questions or concerns.
