Sites for World Cup are chosen
Six countries have been selected to host the 2030 men’s soccer World Cup. The locations were announced by FIFA, the international governing body for the sport, on October 4. This will be the first time the tournament is played on more than one continent. Most of the matches will take place in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay will host one match each as a way to mark the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup, which was hosted by Uruguay in 1930. The Men’s World Cup takes place every four years, and host nations are chosen years in advance. While many people praised the plan to host three matches in South America, some soccer fans and sports journalists said it was disappointing to have so few competitions…
