BTS to enlist in South Korean army

In June, the well-known Korean pop (K-pop) group BTS announced they would be taking a break from working together to focus on solo projects. On October 17, however, their record label revealed additional plans: All seven men (Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) are going to enlist in the South Korean military. BTS formed in 2013 and have broken world records for song sales and streams. In South Korea, all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 must spend 18 to 21 months in the military. The members of BTS are in their 20s, so the question of if and when they would need to join the military had been an issue for years.
