Mountains that top the charts

The 10 highest peaks in the world are in Asia, and nine of them—including Mount Everest—are in the Himalayan mountain range. The second-tallest mountain in the world is K2, which is located in the Karakoram mountain range between China and Pakistan. On other continents, the tallest mountains include Russia’s Mount Elbrus, which is the highest peak in Europe at 18,510 feet. In Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro rises 19,340 feet high. North America’s Mount Denali is 18,000 feet above sea level, while in South America, Mount Aconcagua is 22,831 feet high. And in Antarctica, Vinson Massif is 16,050 feet.
