Historic home is new polling site

A new polling location in Rochester, New York, has special significance: It was once the home of Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906), who spent decades of her life as a pioneer for women’s equality. Now called the National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House, her home was the headquarters of the women’s suffrage (right to vote) movement for more than 40 years. Although Anthony did not live to see it, her efforts resulted in the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920, which granted women the right to vote. Anthony is buried in Rochester, and it has become a tradition for women in the area to place an “I Voted” sticker on her gravestone.
