A paint that lowers temperature

In Atlanta, Georgia, a new type of paint was used to lower the temperature of a school playground. The school painted its black asphalt basketball courts and preschool play area with blue reflective paint that reflects or deflects heat instead of absorbing the Sun’s rays. Asphalt acts like a sponge, absorbing the heat. Before the solar-reflective paint was applied, the temperature around the asphalt was about 120° F, even though the air temperature was only 75° F.
