US approves foreign aid bill

On April 24, President Joe Biden signed a bill that provides $95.3 billion in aid to three countries that are allies of the US. The aid package also included a provision that could lead to the banning of TikTok in the US. What happened? The House of Representatives (one half of Congress, the branch of government that makes laws) passed the bill in separate votes on April 20. They voted 311–112 to send $60.8 billion worth of aid to Ukraine, 366–58 to send $26.4 billion in aid to Israel, and 385–34 to send $8.1 billion in aid to Taiwan.
