Comedy star in the spotlight

Conan O’Brien is being honored for a career spent making people laugh.

The year is already shaping up to be a big one for comedian and former late-night host Conan O’Brien. He will be hosting the 97th Academy Awards (also known as the Oscars, a top film award) on March 2 and is also the 2025 recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, one of the most prestigious honors in comedy. O’Brien, age 61, grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts, as one of six children. His first audience was his family. He entertained them with tap dances and impressions of silent film star Charlie Chaplin.
