Gymnastics team makes history

Fisk University, a school in Nashville, Tennessee, has made college sports history. They are the first Historically Black College and University (HBCU) with a gymnastics team. Earlier this month, they competed in their first collegiate gymnastics meet. Fisk has not won a meet yet, but they have been up against colleges with bigger, more-established programs. At a competition on January 16, they faced the University of Georgia and The Ohio State University—two Top 20 teams—as well as Rutgers University. That day, Fisk gymnast Morgan Price, a freshman, placed first in the all-around. The Fisk team has been getting attention since August, when a video of its first practice went viral.
